The subcategories of the General Education Curriculum include the Liberal Arts Category, the Social Science Category, as well as Natural Science and Application Science.
Liberal Arts Category
The culture created by human beings is not harmful to any lives, but focuses on the subject of the discussion of the related themes such as the unity of meaning, the interpretation of meaning, the expression of emotions, the judgment of value, and appropriate perception and expression.

Social science refers to all sciences that study the relationships among human behavior and culture, human beings and their living environment. They mainly use scientific methods to conduct research regarding the characteristics and changes of human social systems, policies, and values.

Natural Science and Application Science
Science can be divided into two major categories, including Basic Science and Applied Science. Basic Science refers to study of the rationales and principles behind natural phenomena. The natural sciences include physics, chemistry, biology, earth sciences and astronomy. Applied Science refers to applying basic scientific principles to carry out related technological developments in applications, manufacturing and production industries. The “Natural Science and Application Science” of General Education course is designed for students and citizens to equip with scientific knowledge, skills and attitudes of natural science,

Life Science category (merged into Natural Science and Application Science after 104 academic year)
Life Science is the science of studying life, exploring the science of living things and their composition, the course of life development, the relationships among living things, and the relationship between living things and the environment. Life Science is the core of biology that constitutes life science. However, with the advancement of biochemistry, molecular biology and biotechnology, many new interdisciplinary fields have emerged, such as bioinformatics, genetic engineering, stem cells and regenerative medicine.
